Chau Lok Ping is the founder of the Hong Kong Piano Duo Association and currently serves on the piano faculty at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts. She graduated from the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts and the Hochschule für Musik, Theater und Medien Hannover in Germany. Her mentors include Prof. Eleanor Wong, and the piano duo Genova and Dimitrov.
She established “Duo Ping Ting” with her sister in 2008. Since then, they have won numerous international competition awards, including the first prize and three special prizes in the International Piano Duo Competition in Białystok (Poland), the second prize as the youngest winners in the San Marino International Piano Duo Competition, the second prize and audience prize in the Grieg Á Deux International Two-Piano Competition in Oslo, and the third prize in the ARD International Music Competition in Munich. The duo was awarded the title of Honorary Artist of the Foshan Grand Theatre in 2019. They have collaborated with the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra, the New Zürich Orchestra, the Białystok Symphony Orchestra, and the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra. They have also been invited to music festivals worldwide, including concert tours organised by the Dranoff International Two Pianos Foundation, the Liesborner Chamber Music Festival in Germany, the International Gdańsk Piano Duo Festival in Poland, the Hong Kong Arts Festival, the Joy of Music Festival in Hong Kong, and the Gulangyu Piano Festival in Xiamen.
