Currently Second Associate Concertmaster of the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra, Wang Liang was born into a musical family in Shenyang, China. A student of the distinguished pedagogue Professor Lin Yaoji, he entered the Central Conservatory of Music on a full scholarship.
As one of Hong Kong’s most popular violinists, he maintains an active solo career. His recent notable engagements include his 2025 recital tour across five provinces in Central China with pianist Niu Niu (Zhang Shengliang), invited by the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office in Wuhan; the 2024 Hong Kong premiere of Lu Liang-hui’s Love of Sizi Bay with the Hong Kong YWCA Chinese Orchestra at Hong Kong City Hall; and a 2023 performance of the Butterfly Lovers Violin Concerto with the Ponte Orchestra at Hong Kong City Hall and St. John’s Smith Square in London. In 2021, he was featured as soloist in “The Red Violin: Movie in Concert” at Le French May Arts Festival with the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra in May, and was invited by The Chopin Society of Hong Kong to perform Saint-Saëns’ Violin Concerto No. 3 at the Joy of Music Festival in October. Wang is also a frequent soloist at major cultural venues such as Tai Kwun and the Hong Kong Palace Museum.
He has appeared as a guest concertmaster with renowned orchestras, including invited by Maestro Jaap van Zweden’s for his debut concerts with Taiwan’s Evergreen Symphony Orchestra. He has also served as both soloist and leader for the Young Musicians European Orchestra summer festival in Italy and at MISA Shanghai.
Beyond performing, Wang dedicates himself to music education and charity work. He serves on the violin faculty of the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts and Hong Kong Baptist University, conducts the Belilios Public School String Orchestra, and holds a guest professor at the Shenyang Conservatory of Music. He has given a masterclass at the Taipei National University of the Arts, regularly adjudicates major music competitions in Hong Kong, and has been a speaker for violin syllabus seminars co-organized by ABRSM and Tom Lee Music. His charitable activities include performances for Maestro Jaap van Zweden’s Papageno Foundation, and he is a member of the Circle of Friends of the First Initiative Foundation.
Wang’s profile has been featured in a televised RTHK Music Talks interview and in major publications such as the South China Morning Post, Wen Wei Po, and Ming Pao.
In 2021, he completed a recording of all 24 Paganini Caprices, available on his website, which show case his exceptional technical command and artistry. Wang Liang performs on a fine c. 1715 violin by Giovanni Grancino, kindly loaned by the Postscript Collection through the HK Phil String Instruments Circle, and a 1905 violin by Stefano Scarampella, generously loaned by an anonymous patron. He is currently sponsored as a Friend of LARSEN Strings.
王亮，現任香港管弦樂團第二副首席，出生於瀋陽音樂世家，是香港樂壇備受矚目的小提琴家之一。他的藝術軌跡融合了精湛的演奏、廣泛的合作與深厚的音樂教育貢獻，展現出多元而活躍的音樂影響力。
近年重要獨奏演出包括：
2025年，應香港特別行政區政府駐武漢經濟貿易辦事處邀請，與鋼琴家牛牛（張勝量）在華中五省舉行巡迴音樂會。
2024年，與香港女青中樂團合作，於香港大會堂首演盧亮輝作品《西子灣之戀》小提琴協奏曲。
2023年，攜手Ponte Orchestra，分別於香港大會堂及英國倫敦聖約翰堂演出《梁祝小提琴協奏曲》。
2021年，於法國五月藝術節《紅色小提琴》電影音樂會中擔任獨奏；同年10月，於香港蕭邦社「美樂聚2021」音樂節中演繹聖桑《第三小提琴協奏曲》。此外，他亦經常受邀於香港大館、故宮文化博物館等藝術地標進行獨奏表演。
作為客席首席，王亮曾與國內外多個知名樂團合作，受指揮家梵志登（Jaap van Zweden）邀請，在其與臺灣長榮交響樂團的首演中擔任樂團首席。他還曾以獨奏家及首席身份亮相於義大利歐洲青年交響音樂節及上海夏季音樂節（MISA）。
除演奏事業外，王亮亦積極投身音樂教育與公益領域。他現任香港演藝學院及香港浸會大學小提琴主科導師，並受聘為瀋陽音樂學院客座教授，曾於國立臺北藝術大學舉辦大師班。他經常擔任香港多項音樂比賽評委，並主講由通利琴行與英皇考級（ABRSM）合辦的小提琴專題講座。目前，王亮為拉森琴弦（LARSEN）合作伙伴及領賢慈善基金（FIF）友人，並應指揮家梵志登之邀，於荷蘭帕帕吉諾基金會進行演奏。
王亮曾接受香港電臺《美樂說》電視專訪，並獲《南華早報》、《文匯報》、《明報》等多家媒體專題報導。
王亮師從著名小提琴教育家林耀基教授，以第一名成績考入中央音樂學院管弦系，並獲得全額獎學金。2021年，他在個人網站上完成了帕格尼尼全套24首隨想曲的錄製，展現了其卓越的技術與藝術修養。
